Located between Salt Lake City and Provo, Bluffdale offers residents abundant boating and hiking opportunities. Sundance Resort lies east of Bluffdale offering some of the best skiing in the country during the winter and theatre, music and film festivals in the summer. Bluffdale is home to Creating Keepsakes.
Money Magazine named Fort Collins the best place in the country to live. Situated at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins is home to wide range of recreational opportunities, diverse cultural attractions and a vibrant nightlife. Fort Collins is home to our Digital Media group.
Mountain biking, fossil hunting and a thriving art scene are just a few of this diverse community’s interests. An eclectic mix of old west charm and contemporary life, Golden boasts activities from parasailing to rock-climbing. Located just west of Denver and east of the Rocky Mountains, Golden is home to the Creative Crafts Group.
Home to the Bridges of Madison County, this picturesque, historical town lies 40 miles southwest of Des Moines – the fastest growing area in Iowa. Winterset has beautiful rural scenery as well as quick access to Iowa State University. Winterset is home to Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting.
Located in central Wisconsin, this family-friendly community boasts several lakes for fishing and boating as well as hiking trails and cross-country skiing opportunities. Iola hosts the Annual Old Car Show with over 2,200 classic and muscle cars and is home to Krause Publications.
Major league sports, a thriving art scene and nightlife are mainstays in Cincinnati. Zoos, aquariums and a waterfront with a large variety of shops and restaurants are the result of a thriving energetic city. Cincinnati is the location of our home offices.
The city so big, so international, so dynamic, they named it twice. Bustling with Broadway and the global center of media and finance, New York has a thriving tech scene, dubbed “Silicon Alley,” and is second only to Silicon Valley in the tech start up universe. NYC is also the global HQ for F+W.
Historical Cambridge is home to two of the world’s most prominent universities, Harvard and MIT. Located directly north of Boston it is an eclectic mix of colonial history and contemporary urban energy. Cambridge is home to Sky & Telescope.
A small, relaxed New England town, Avon offers sport fishing and skiing opportunities. For those wanting a bit of city energy to counter the rural New England charm of Avon, Boston is a mere 20 miles north. Avon is home to Adams Media.
Sudbury maintains the quiet atmosphere of its colonial farming past even though it is a part of Boston Metro West. Sports and local theatre are a part of the Sudbury nightlife and historical points of interest dot the landscape from here to Boston.
It’s hard to top Meredith’s local beauty, situated on Lake Winnipesaukee and among the rolling hills just south of the White Mountains in central New Hampshire. Meredith is a haven for sport fishing and hiking. Meredith’s winding roads reveal an endless array of breathtaking scenery. Meredith is home to Keepsake Quilting.
With a relatively mild climate, Devon is a recreational destination. Devon is home to a variety of attractions; a national aquarium, botanical gardens, castles and manors. Residents can take in live theatre or enjoy a scenic ride on the South Devon Railway. Devon is home to F+W International.

Dan has been with F+W for 20 years. As content director, Dan is responsible for leading the talented and creative team that produces all of F+W’s print, digital, video and online products in the Outdoors community. What he likes most about F+W: “Working side by side with others who are so impassioned with the outdoors lifestyle.”
Originally from the Milwaukee area, Dan lives in the country near Iola with his wife and two daughters. They are nearly self sufficient, with wild game and homegrown vegetables accounting for much of the family’s food supply … and weekend entertainment.
