Michael Silverberg to lead venerable brand
NEW YORK—May 10, 2012—Gary Lynch, Group Publisher for the F+W Media, Inc. Design Community, announced today that Michael Silverberg has been named Editor in Chief of Print magazine. He will be responsible for developing the content strategy for all Print-related properties—which include the magazine, the Regional Design Annual competition, Imprint, and Print Books—and extending the brand across multiple platforms.
“Print has been a trusted chronicler of design in all its forms for 72 years,” Lynch says. “But the ways in which our customers interact with us are changing very rapidly. Our responsibility is to ensure that the content we create is accessible through all channels: in print and online, on mobile devices and tablets, and through social media and events. We need enlightened leadership that recognizes the changing landscape, embraces the opportunities it presents, and is capable of moving quickly. Based on his work at the magazine, as well as his experience in the design industry, I’m confident that Michael is that person,” he added.
Silverberg, who was previously the managing editor of Print, has been writing about design for nearly a decade and has also served as an editor at Metropolis. His writing has appeared in Fast Company, The New York Times Magazine, Details, New York, I.D., and other publications.
